Things That Make You Go Hmmm....

Since I'm feeling kind of blah, here's some food for though.

At the end of every Vanity Fair magazine is the Proust Questionnaire, which is completed by someone famous each month. It usually makes me think, so I thought I'd include it ... with my answers, of course! They do change some of the questions sometimes, but here are the ones from a recent issue.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
I think that's an evolving definition... right now, sleeping in with the dogs, in my bed, on a sunny Sunday morning. Then having an awesome breakfast.

What is your greatest fear?
Dying alone.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Indecision.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Blatant arrogance and entitlement.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Extravagance?? Huh? Probably my smartphone and wireless internet.

What is your current state of mind?
Tired and frustrated.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Prudence in all things. Who needs that?

On what occasion do you lie?
Only when absolutely necessary, but not often.

Which living person do you most despise?
Michael Vick. I cannot believe what he did and allowed to be done to those dogs he had fighting on his property! I get rageful just thinking about it! Check out that episode of DogTown ... you'll get mad too.

What is the quality you most like in a man?
Honesty, sense of humor, and a caring nature.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Independence, honesty, and sense of humor.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
"Um" "Does that make sense?" "Like"

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Family and friends. And my dogs!

When and where were you happiest?
Honestly, the most recent time was after my dissertation defense at my celebration. It was amazing to look around the table and see my friends supporting me and celebrating with me. Plus, the hard part was over!

Which talent would you most like to have?
I would like to knit. Then I could make cool throw blankets and scarves and whatnot. But I have not been graced with that talent, try as I might.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
The relationships that I've built with people- family, friends, colleagues. Also, my education.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?
Hmmm.... I really don't know. A fly on the wall of the Oval Office?

What is your most treasured possession?
My baby ring.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Recovering from a tonsillectomy (bad) then experiencing excruciating pain during a bout of explosive, projectile vomiting (really, really bad). It brings tears to my eyes to think about it.

What is your most marked characteristic?
Sense of humor.

What do you most value in your friends?
Honesty.

What is it that you most dislike?
Cruelty to animals and child abuse.

How would you like to die?
Old, happy, and peacefully and surrounded by loved ones.

What is your motto?
Learn something from everything.

Your defense celebration. Yay!
Tonsilectomy...boo.

Remember that cool package you made for Gina and Jason? Well my best bud from Montana called last night to tell me they are expecting. I guess I will have to go find all those crazy "someone in Colorado loves you" stuff...haha.
