Why is it that whenever I paint my nails, they get ruined? More specifically, why is it they get ruined hours after I've painted them?
Here's the scoop: I painted one coat yesterday afternoon while studying for my license exam. I let them dry, dry, dry. I had a snack. I painted the second coat at least 2 hours later. Again, I was studying and letting them dry. Hours later I went to bed. And this morning? Some of my nails have the stupid texture of my sheets.
Why? Why does this happen?
I've tried, and loved, Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry stuff, but don't have any and really was hoping I could go without it... but it's looking like I need to buy more. Sigh.
Any tips or tricks out there? Anyone with the answer?

I wish I could help you, but mine always get messed up too. Even when I go get a manicure it only lasts about a day or 2 before it starts chipping. If you find out something that works, please share!
When I get my nails done they put this oil on top of them before I leave. If you mark them it's so easy to fix. The lady one time said to just use veggy oil or whatever oil you have in your pantry. I know Aveda makes a little bottle of something but I'm sure it costs...
I have the exact same problem and that's why I stopped painting my finger nails.
IDK... nailpolish and my nails do not like each other.
I have no suggestions either but I have been wanting to paint my toe nails. And that seems to never come off!
Avon sells a product that you spray on your nails. It's like insta-freeze spray. I have had good luck when I remember to use it. I also have good luck when I try to heat set my nails. I had a small battery operated nail drying station. It was probably the size of my hand, so very portable. If I don't do that...then I get linen lines too! Also, Avon has a nail corrector pen you could try. I purchased both when I sold and was happy. The nail pen and spray were like $4.99 or something. Very reasonable. :-)
