So Here We Are

Or rather, here I am.

It's June 1st. Already. My Birthday is approaching quickly. The Birthday. The Big. Three. Oh.

Someone, who didn't really know how old I was, but guessed that I was about 27, recently asked me how I was doing with the thought of being 30. I told her I was fine with it. Honestly, for whatever reason, I was more freaked out when I turned 27 than I feel right now. True story.

Anyway, shortly after starting this blog I decided to make my List of 30 Things To Do Before Turning 30. I didn't give myself much time, less than a year and a half, so my list never actually reached 30 items. No big deal, 25 items was A-OK with me, especially since a number of them were BIG items.

Let's review what I have completed:

10. Go see a movie alone. Not a matinee. And buy popcorn.
I am so glad I did this! It might seem small, but it was a tough one for me.

7. Read all of The Chronicles of Narnia.
This was a fun one, though my favorite in the series is and probably always will be The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

8. Buy one new piece of furniture for myself.
Still loving my purchases!

22. Buy a house.
Some days I still am surprised I bought a house. Most of the time, I'm really, really glad. I will say this item took more of my time, emotional/physical/mental energy, hope, and effort than I ever thought it would.

So. Four items. Wow. That's it? Really?

Hmm.

T-minus 16 days and counting...

Good job!!!

And I feel you... I'm turning 29 this year and I just can't believe it. I still feel like I'm 25 and once I had to correct myself when someone asked me my age! I think age is what you make of it. 30 is nothing! Enjoy the time you have no matter what age you are!

And Happy Birthday Month! :o)

Take a vacation. An actual vacation...I know- for your birthday fly out to visit me! Oh wait, you are going to be able to cross that off your list!!!
I was thinking...we should have a party for you. My backyard and we could bbq or have everyone meet at that Cafe! I thought about a suprise, but then I thought about what that might do to your heart rate and what if I invited someone you didn't care to see or left someone out?! Anyway...I'd be happy to host a bbq at our house if you would like. Just let me know.

Just change your list to 35 things before 35. And put some easier ones on there:-) Is that cheating?

Erin- Thanks for the Birthday wishes! And I agree, a lot of age is what you make of it!!

Amber- Thanks for the encouragement. :-)

Kim- I'm not sure it's cheating. I will likely keep the list around and add to it. I mean, I still want to do these things!

N- Hooray for vacation! You're so sweet to offer to host a party! AND to think what a surprise party might do to my poor, OLD heart. LOL. It might be fun to have a little party though! And I could see so many people at once! Let's talk more...

my list turned into 40 by 40 but being that i'm turning 35 this year that may change too!

1... i went to a movie alone too...several and i actually enjoyed it.
2... 25 was very hard for me because i was a quarter of a century... 30 was easy, but 35 this year seems like it's gonna be a tougher one.

it's hard to believe you're 30 already sister! seems like just yesterday was the good ole days!
