NOT in the Garden Right Now...

...my first Jalapeno! Because I ate it!

And it was good. I sliced it up and threw it in with some pasta, olive oil, fresh tomatoes and herbs, and a little salt. At first, I only threw in a few slices of the smaller end, as I didn't know how spicy it would be. It tasted so fresh and so... pepper-y, but very mild like a Bell pepper. Mm. Later, I sliced up the rest and threw it in with my leftover pasta, but first I ate a slice with the seeds. Whew! That side packed more heat!!

I can't wait for more!

Too hot for me! But it's such a cute little thing, isn't it?

Oh my gosh, no! Not habaneros! Gary gave me one last summer and I used a part of it for a VAT of soup and it was crazy hot! I didn't even put the seeds in the soup and I took out the chunk of pepper once I was done simmering...smokin' hot!

Hey...I was just thinking that's funny that you get a bell pepper-y taste...Bell peppers usually aren't one of your fave things to add to food. Good thing you can get the taste this way. :-)

Don't get me wrong, I love bell peppers, especially yellow & red. In fact, that other green-growing-thing in my last post was a baby yellow bell pepper! It's the green ones...when they are strong & great in number they make me burp like crazy. TMI, I know. :)
