Or maybe, catching our breath? After all the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving and Christmas have died down, it seems to me like people are waiting.
Looking forward.
Planning.
Hoping.
In my family New Year's Eve was never really a big deal and I guess it's still not a big deal for me. Although, as the year draws to a close I do find myself reflecting more. Planning more. Maybe even ... hoping more. And that, my friends, is a good thing.
For me, this time of year also makes me remember. If you've been reading for a while, you know I make a donation each year to the American Cancer Society. You don't need me to tell you (again) that it's a good cause, that they fund important research, provide amazing services and support, and educate the public about so many things.
The American Cancer Society is one of the things I feel strongly about, but maybe it's not your thing. That's OK.
But if you haven't already, then find your thing. Make a difference. Support it- volunteer or participate at an event, raise money, or make a donation. (It's a good time to get those donations made before the years ends, since they're usually tax-deductible.*) There's really no time like the present.
*I am not a Certified Public Accountant, tax expert, or representative of the Internal Revenue Service, so check with someone who knows what they're talking about to verify this.

I made a donation to the American Cancer Society this year...and I did race for the cure! I've lost some close people to cancer so these types of organizations always get my donations! I also love donating to foodbanks! Happy New Year to you! I hope it's a good one!
Happy New Year to you too! I hope it brings awesome things for you...and me too. :)
And way to go on race for the cure! You're a rockstar!
Great organization to donate to! I just read your reflection post, then this one, so out of order...but I would add another thing that brought me some wonder this year was hearing about some of the cancer research that is being done. It's awesome, absolutely amazing. I'm also hopeful that in our lifetime there will be a cure and I think we are lucky to say that we are a part of funding that cure.
